Titanik invites emerging and established Palestinian artists to submit their one-month solo exhibition proposal accompanied by a two-months residency to take place in spring 2025. Titanik wishes to support Palestinian artists in the continuous development of their practice and international collaborations at times when Palestine is violently affected by the ongoing geopolitical crisis. It welcomes projects that challenge dominant narratives, revisit and reimagine histories, and intervene in societal currents.
This open call does not require the production of new works but encourages the recontextualisation of existing work in dialogue with the space and community that Titanik is. Furthermore, the residency is non-production in nature. It is meant to provide an artist with time and space to temporarily lean away from the intensities of their daily routine, to focus on their artistic research and potentially begin a collaborative dialogue with the professions in the local art scene that Titanik is glad to facilitate.
Titanik is a contemporary art space located in Turku on the Southwestern coast of Finland. Titanik aims to create a space for unexpected encounters, artistic interchange and critical discussion. No form of harassment or discrimination is tolerated at Titanik. In addition to exhibitions, Titanik hosts a variety of open public and project-based events, such as concerts and performances.
